Joe Batty-Peirson passes away at 99

The senior management of Luton Rugby Club sadly announce that Joe Batty-Peirson passed away on 22nd September at an age of 99.

Joe first played for Luton Rugby Club in 1933 and in his 80 years of membership with the club Joe was Club Captain, Chairman and an Honorary Life Member, which he had held for many years following his massive contribution to Luton Rugby Club.

Joe always like to attend the Match Day Luncheons whenever possible where he could be heard recalling events from his time in the Royal Navy, Joe always threatened to pull his rugby boots out of retirement to run out with the 1st XV, but sadly that will not be the case.
