Uneventful game sees Harrow score seven tries

Luton failed to get the double over Harrow as they lost 43 – 8 in their London One North clash.
Both sides have already been relegated, meaning they had nothing to lose, but it seemed Harrow had improved since their visit to Newlands Road earlier this season.
The hosts got off to a great start and took the lead from just six minutes in as Harrow’s inside centre Ryan Owens scored a try after some good passing, with Adam West kicking the extras.
Luton maintained possession following the try, but they could not get past the stubborn Harrow defence until Rick Hobbs made a great solo run, which nearly saw him get over the line.
Play was then called back as a Harrow player was caught offside, which allowed Hobbs to score a penalty and bring them back within four points of their opponents.
The rest of the half remained quiet until the 37th minute when Stuart James Vincent got over with ease with West converting to make it 14 – 3 at the break.
It was a nightmare start to the second half for Luton as Hobbs attempted to punt the ball out in the 41st minute, but it was blocked by Hanny Reid, who pounced onto the loose ball and grounded it, West scoring the conversion.
Just four minute later, the hosts scored another try after the ball was given out wide to Lee Huggett who found his way through, West kicking the extras to make it 26 – 3.
Hobbs found his way through the Harrow defence once again after another great run at the hour mark but the ball was stripped from his hands just before the line and kicked out for touch.
Four minutes later, Stuart Tomkinson was sin binned for a high tackle, and the extra man gave Harrow even more space to work with, allowing Vincent to get over again in the 65th minute with West adding the extras.
In the 71st minute, Robert Banabwanath barged his way through four or five Luton players but was tackled just before the line which lead to Shane Toghen following up from the ruck to make it 38 – 3.
After Tomkinson was allowed back on the pitch, Luton upped their game and executed a brilliant catch and drive which was sent over the line and grounded by Tomkinson.
Luton were unable to reduce the deficit any further despite their best efforts, then Harrow added insult to injury when Vincent scored his third try of the day in the 79th minute.
Luton second row Alex Dola Lami believes they need to work on their game in order to start winning games. He said: “We need to work on the basics. We need to start cutting lower with the tackles.
“We were panicking at key moments in the game, and making good decisions but we just rushed at times. We need to take our time and actually listen to each other.
“Their scrum was steady and it was difficult especially as Tommo had to play as a prop and he doesn’t normally play there.
“I was surprised by how good Harrow were though. We probably made them look a better team than they are, to be fair.”
