Back to back wins

Half time quote at Holt RFC from a Luton player "You don't know how hard this is! We're all done in, back to back games.."
- A Luton Colts source...

The Academy under 18 Colts bounced back from the disappointment of defeat to Ampthill in the Beds County Cup with 2 wins from 2 games on their "Sweet Caroline" Tour to Norfolk..
Saturday saw the colts play North Walsham. It looked a bit sticky to start with, not a great start. A source for the Colts said it might have been the warm weather affecting their play, or just the lack of sleep having traveled to the far east of Norfolk on Friday..
A quick sugar intake at half time and back they came, in true Luton RFC Colts style, slow to start but once going forward unstoppable. North Walsham 10 vs 48 Luton RFC Colts.
Sunday and a visit to Holt RFC, this was always going to be a hard day at the office.
From the start, Holt were putting down their marker and stamping their authority on the game. Luton Colts where struggling to come back at them, Holt had a lot of noisy support from the crowd and that helped to spur them onto a good half time lead; Holt 17 vs 0 Luton RFC Colts.
Our Colts source said that after a good cuddle and a rub down with a wet rag, oh and that intake of sugar again, out they went. But, there was something different about them. They had a look of, if we are going down, we're not going without a fight, of which there were a few rough moments. The Colts had picked up a couple of injuries on the Saturday, but the lads told the coaches, "we're going on" and they did!
Suddenly Luton Colts went over the line, conversion made 17 v 7. The Holt crowd spurring their team on. The game took a turn, Luton were now pushing them back, Holt not able to get out of their half, try, conversion 17 vs 14 stunned faces from the Holt supporters and no-longer so vocal. Can Luton keep up the pressure? Yes they can, some fantastic free play and a great run on the wing, try, conversion missed 17 vs 19.
The clock is ticking and the Luton Colts from somewhere found the strength to hit them again and again. Holt now playing on their back foot. Up again come Luton, pushing hard. There were some great runs through the Holt defense, Luton's support play was outstanding, linking up across the backs. On they charge, the line in sight, the clock ticking, TRY.... now the conversion, over the posts it goes 17 v 26. Only a few minutes left on the clock, the ball goes dead, the final whistle blows, Luton Colts make it back from a half time 17 v 0 defeat to win!! Holt RFC Colts 17 v 26 Luton RFC Colts.

We would like to thank both of our hosts for their hospitality and for enabling the team to finish the season with a weekend away.
