Luton RugbyVolunteers

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Luton Rugby Club, never has this been more than case:

1st XV target return to National League Rugby following last seasons taster

2nd XV to develop into a

  Development Team for players

wanting to play 1st XV rugby

Luton to be a Coaching Development Centre and aiming to be an RFU Beacon Club

Continued growth in terms of numbers playing, quality of coaching and teams winning within our Youth & Mini Section

Collectively achieving these objectives will ensure that Luton Rugby Club develops into the leading club in the area.

Achieving these objectives requires many things, currently we require volunteers to assist with the following, your effort however great or small will make a difference as we continue on our club development path.

Promotion of 1st XV Matchdays and Youth Floodlight games

The purpose of the role being to increase the number of people watching rugby at Luton, in particular our Social Membership and supporter base. It is envisaged that the role will involve poster and leaflet design and distribution in suitable outlets. It is possible that this could be split into two roles with 1 individual taking care of design whilst another distributes either personally or via an existing distribution network.

Promotion & Management & Weekly Adverts

Thanks to the support received from Luton on Sunday we have a regular slot to place advertisements, currently this job falls on the office staff who have other priorities. The role involves the collation of adverts and the weekly placing of an ad with Luton on Sunday, a good PC and use of email are the requirements for this role.

Social Committee

The club has had a couple of people step forward to be part of the Social Committee, we are seeking a couple more so that the workload can be spread. This must be one of the most rewarding roles in the club, your task is to ensure that as many people as possible from as diverse groups as possible enjoy themselves socialising at Newlands. The funds raised will then be used to fund essential club developments, facilities etc for the benefit of all users.

Shop Assistants

Linda has done a sterling job of growing the shop range and services, with this new website we will soon have an online shop that Linda will run. Although happy to continue the stocking, ordering and pricing, Linda needs assistance so that the shop can be open as per the Members requests. If you can do a few hours on Wednesdays, Saturdays or Sundays your help will be much appreciated, you may just find its more fun than watching rugby in the cold!!

Please come forward and discuss these roles, if you or your family currently gain from the facilities that the club offers, please help us to improve on all fronts by taking on a task.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Luton Rugby, Keith Butten, Chairman
