Luton 3rd followed up last weeks 10-10 draw vs OA's with a resounding 41-15 win over BBOB's. After a strong start Luton took the lead. From a tap penalty Fly Half Dean Ashton gave the ball to Inside centre Simon Williams who smashed over the line to make it 5-0. BBOB's bounced back with two quality counter attack tries that saw them use their quick backs to spread the ball wide to make it 5-10. However Luton managed to close the half out with two tries of their own. After the ball came loose from a ruck, Ashton hacked on and Hooker Harry Smith picked up and came close to scoring before popping to Flanker Rory Bamber who held off a number of players to score under the posts, Ashton adding the extras to make it 12-10. Great play from the forwards secured a 3rd try before the break. Number 8 Paul Thomas broke from a maul and took several defenders with him before popping to Michael Fulton who scored, Ashton once again added the extras to make it 19-10 at half time.
The 2nd half saw Luton come out with more intensity and they added another try early into the half. Scrum Half Billy Gethin sniped down the blindside and left the BBOB backline in his drift to score out wide, Ashton converted again to make 26-10. Luton extended the lead to 31-10 shortly afterwards when Ashton's cross field kick found Winger Paul Read who popped back inside to Williams to grab his 2nd. Two good pieces of turnover play led to the next two Luton tries. The forwards secured the ball and Ashton found Flanker Martin O'Grady who cut through the defence to make it 36-10. The last of Luton's tries saw the ball fed out to backs and Chris Mayhew ran in from 40 yards to make it 41-10. BBOB's had the last say after a period of pressure when they spread the ball through the hands from a tap penalty 10 yards out and into the corner to leave the final score as 41-15 and leave the 3rds unbeaten in 2013
