Amersham and Chilton 38 v 12 Luton 2's

Luton 2’s look to bounce back after a third successive league defeat to Amersham and Chilton in a game which ended 38-12.

The loss means that the 2’s maintain their fourth position within the league – nine points off league leaders Tring.
The Newlands side showed flashes of brilliant play, passing and clearing well in the attack.
But not even tries from Conner Sibley and Alex Hill were enough to topple the home side.

It was a difficult start from kick off after defensive errors meant that Luton conceded early on; and it looked after 15 minutes it would be a long afternoon ahead.

Despite the defeat, Charlie Wallington put in a good performance, stepping up to play prop for the first time in his senior career a few weeks after his 18th birthday, and was duly awarded Man of the Match.

Second team manager Steve Haynes say’s “this reformed / young team still have some work to do, but it is looking hopeful for the future, there is a positive vibe around the team”.
He said: “We need to work on our physicality and make those tackles count. The lads have been working really well. Obviously, there are always things to work on in training.”

Luton 2’s welcome Fullerians 3’s at home this coming Saturday 4th November 2017.
