We are delighted to introduce our new start Mixed Ability team Luton Red Kites. This idea has been born out of conversations that started with the words “Can we”? Well, “yes we can” and we did.

This is a fledgling team consisting of players 16 plus that have learning disabilities. A relationship has been developed with Central Bedfordshire College and their Pathway students who, on a Friday morning come to the club and have started their rugby journey under the watchful of eye of Wayne Hemson, one of our Senior players, and now also Head Coach. Wayne has made the training sessions fun, and engages all of the students and Tutors too!!!

Moving into 2022 we will be looking to expand this exciting new venture into to other SEN FE sites and develop our team further. We have been extremely lucky with support from the Saracens Foundation Project Rugby team, who are able to help us with onsite Tutor training and arrange competitive events.
