BEDFORDSHIRE PLATE WINNERS LUTON U10S

what a day of rugby , we turned up with a squad of 13 out of the 15 available and were put into a pool with ampthill b , Leighton buzzard
& biggy boys a , the other pool consisting of ampthill a Bedford j bs , a biggy boys b and Bedford jbs b

we played ampthill b first and totally out classed them winning 20 - 0 , we had to stay on an immediately took on Leighton buzzard .
where eventualy tiredness took its toll and we suffered our only defeat of the whole day 15 - 0

after a short break we finished our pool of with an effort of real commitment and grit to beat arguably the best side in the tornament
bigglswade by 10 - 5

at the end of the pool stage no team had a 100% record luton , biggy boys , Leighton buzzard , ampthill a , and Bedford jb a all had 2 wins and 1 defeat but after the bods had fiddled with there abacuses we ended up in the semi final of the plate against biggy boys b { if we had managed to score a try against Leighton buzzard we would have been in the cup semi final it was that tight }

in the semi final against biggleswade we simply outclassed them with brilliant individual displays coupled with a team ethic that quite frankly was not there 6 weeks ago , final score 30- 5

then onto the final where we faced ampthill b again .

this time to there credit ampthill put up a lot more resistance in the first half than in the pool game . but in the second half we displayed what I can only describe as champagne rugby totally outclassing ampthill to overwhelm them in the end by 15 - 5

in the last 2 years we have threatened to do something very good only to fall agonisingly close near the final hurdle

this time we have steamrollered our way to the plate and it turns out that ourselves and ampthill a who went on to win the cup were the only 2 teams with just 1 defeat all day

we were unable to collect our plate as last years winners had not returned, pretty poor on their part

hopefully we will be able to get it by next sunday were we will do a PROPER PRESENTATION for all there effort
