Luton Give Bedford the Blues

Luton Under 8’s travelled to Bedford Blues to compete in a triangular match with fellow guests St. Ives in appalling conditions. Luton showed their class winning all of their matches to the delight of their coaches and parents.

Luton Cobra’s started proceeding edging a 25-20 win over the Blues, thanks to Callum Corley-Doyle getting a brace, supported by Sam Spary, Farrell Bennett, and Adina Hunter all getting a try each. Cobra’s second match again was tight contest against the Blues with Luton winning 40-35 Corley-Doyle grabbed four tries that earnt him a man of the match award, Bennett crashed over the line twice with Hunter and Charlie Roy both getting one each.

Luton Vipers continued the good form by beating the Blues 50-25, skipper Toby Hunt scored a hatrick, Shea O’Donnell and Leo Lyons both got braces, supported by Luan Burke, Lewis Read and Ryan Swaine all getting a try each. The Vipers last match saw them come up against St Ives who had no answer to the in form Luton side who ran out 50-35 winners. Skipper Hunt got his second hatrick of the day helped along by Lyons who also bagged a hatrick with Read, O’Donnell, Spary all getting a try along with Swaine who went over the white wash to seal a man of the match performance.

The under 8’s coaching team are absolutely delighted with the effort the team are putting into every match, with a special mention to Charlie, Shea, Nico and Ryan who have all slotted into the team seamlessly, well done boys. Also a big thank you to the parents for braving the elements and supporting the teams from the side lines.
