Luton Under 8’s welcomed Letchworth and Chesham to Newlands Road, and finished the day unbeaten after 8 matches. Luton Cobra’s started the day by putting Chesham to the sword in a 35-20 victory, Farrell Bennett ran in 4 tries, supported by Ryan Swaine who scored a brace and Cian Llewellyn also crossed the line.
Cobra’s second match saw them face a tough Letchworth (B) side that were eventually brushed aside in a 25-15 win for Luton, tries coming from Toby Hunt, Leo Lyons, Bennett, Llewellyn and Swaine.
Luton next faced Letchworth (A) in a physical encounter which saw Luton come out on top 40-35, tries from a Sam Spary hatrick, a brace from Hunt and tries from Nico Claridge, Swaine and Bennett
Luton Vipers started their day up against Letchworth (A) and were caught cold which saw them fall 3 tries behind early on, before showing great spirit to fight back, and eventually running out 30-20 winners, thanks to skipper Callum Corley-Doyle going over 4 times, Tio Bankole getting a try and Jake Walker sealing a man of the match performance with a superb try.
Vipers second match saw them face Letchworth (B), in a 35-35 draw, Corley-Doyle bagged a hatrick, Lewis Read scored a brace and tries from Bankole and Shea O’Donnell.
Luton Greens came up against Chesham and ran out 30-25 winners that saw Bankole bag a hatrick, O’Donnell grabbing a brace and Llewellyn crossing the line in a fine performance.
Luton Reds faced an uncompromising Letchworth side in the final match of the day, which saw Luton show their class with a 45-20 victory, Hunt put in a man of the match performance with 4 tries, Corley-Doyle scored a brace, supported by Adina Hunter, Lyons and Bennett who all crossed the white wash.
