Under 7s home to Shelford

I hope you all enjoyed Sunday morning's rugby. Unfortunately, half term appeared to have had an impact on Shelford's plyer numbers - although we are at the end of our half term, Cambridgeshire may have a different time for theirs - so we only had two squads to host. Nevertheless, everyone got plenty of rugby on the morning.

We split the kids into 4 squads, and while two of them played Shelford, the other two played a training match. It was all a bit random Sunday morning, as we tried to keep all the kids running around - too cold to stand still. I think we won 3, drew 2 and lost just 1. For some reason, I thought we had played 8 games. I am sorry that I could not watch any of the Luton / Shelford matches as I was looking after our two spare squads, but talking to the other coaches, loads of great reports!

A particular shout out for our MOTM winners, Charlie Barnwell and Cian Jackman. And to our players who stepped up to help out the Under 8s. I was talking to their coaches: none of our players looked out of place, all took tags, and most of them scored tries. This bodes very well for our team. Bear in mind that the Under 8s play on pitches that are about 4 times the size of our pitches. Well done, kiddy winks!

One notable milestone: Harrison Yang has now scored 100 tries this season. This is all the more remarkable as he missed the first two game-days of the season.

Training next week, back on the Meadow. Unfortunately, I will not be there, but I am sure that Adam, Tony, Barney, Jamie and Yangie will have a great session with the kids.
