Under 7s home to BBOBs

First of all, welcome on board to Joe who joined us for the first time. We had a total of 15 players, so we split the kids into three squads, Red, Green and White. Our White team had most of our newer and younger players, so it is not surprising that they lost both their games, but I am not in the least disappointed. Our Red and Green teams played five games between them and won all five. How bad?

Most pleasing was that most of our players scored tries. My ambition is to see _all_ players scoring tries. By the way, a hint to the new parents: do not promise your kids a pound a try - it will break you! Last season, seven of our players joined the "100 Club" by scoring over a hundred tries. We had two "Man of the Match" awards to hand out this week. All of our Green Team players (Marcus, Daniel, Harrison, and Gethin) played equally well and it was impossible to pick any of them out. On the Red Team, however, there was a standout player: Freddie. Not only did he score no less than 14 tries, but more importantly he also took 16 tags in just over 2 matches. The opposition cannot score if they keep getting tagged. Outstanding. The other award went to one of our new players: Riley only joined us last week, but he has really taken to this tag rugby crack. An honourable mention to Ollie - another outstanding new player.
