Under 7s at Hitchin

We took our first away trip of the season to Hitchin last Sunday, 19th October. We had another great day, winning 5 out of 6 games played.

I had hoped we would have enough players to form our usual three teams but in the event, we only had 13 players on the day, so it made more sense to split the kids into two squads. Scores and scorers were:

A well deserved Man of the Match award went to Daniel. He scored no less than 11 tries but more importantly was exemplary in defence. As I only had one Man of the Match award to hand out on Sunday, I had a couple of chocolate bars to hand out as consolation prizes. Both of these went to our younger players: to Ollie who scored three tries on the day and played like a demon, and one to our newest team member Patrick who really took to the game and to the team (and managed to beat everyone to score a "own try". Grins.) A big shout out to Joe who also scored three tries, Archie who is one of our youngest players, and to Freddie who kindly helped me with the finer points of refereeing. Snigger.

A quick reminder that we are at home to Dunstablians and Ampthill on Sunday. We will be up on Pitch 2 so as to have plenty of space. Dunstablians are bringing about 20 players and Ampthill are likely to bring 40 or more players, so we will have plenty of rugby to play. Please be there promptly for 10am, boots, tags and belts on ready to go.
