The Under 7s visited Shelford on Sunday (15th February) for a fixture. Some confusion ensued as Shelford were not expecting us. Top marks to them, as they immediately took steps to accommodate their unexpected visitors. My thanks to Shelford for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
We ended up playing with just a single squad: when I was asked at 10:20am how many squads we had available, we had just 5 players. As people rocked up, we ended up with a dozen players and could have run two or three squads; too late. A lesson to us all to arrive promptly. We did our best to keep all the players busy and to give them all as much match time as possible. Scores and scorers are as follows:
Luton 7 - 3 Shelford
Tries: Marcus, Freddie (3), Harrison (3)
Luton 4 - 5 Shelford
Tries: Marcus, Daniel, Sammy, Joseph
Luton 4 - 6 Shelford
Tries: Gethin (2), Harvey (2)
Luton 6 - 2 Shelford
Tries: Freddie (3), Sammy, Joe (2)
For once, the Man of the Match awards were quite easy to pick. Firstly, one of our newest and youngest players, Joseph, who scored his debut try. The other award went to one of our most experienced players, Harrison. Harrison is one of those players that could win the MOTM on most weeks. Well done, Joseph and Harrison!
