Under 7s at Leighton Buzzard

A bit of an odd day on Sunday. In some ways we had our worst day of the season so far; we lost more matches (3) than the rest of the season to date (2). Perhaps it was the half term break, or maybe a hang over from Halloween? On the other hand, we also had our very best day of the season. Every single one of our players scored tries. I am absolutely chuffed to bits!

We rocked up at Leighton Buzzard with a total of 15 players. We were able to form three teams - Red, Green and White - and once again we slightly streamed the kids. Buzzard wanted us to put together a team to play their newest players, and we were happy to oblige. We played a total of 11 matches, winning 7, drawing 1 and losing 3. A big shout out to Callum, Ollie, Archie, Jayden and George D who all scored at least one try in each game they played in. Another shout out to George D who scored his first tries of the season in only his second game day, and especially to Renan who scored on his debut. Cracking stuff, lads.

We had our usual two Man of the Match awards to hand out. Again, with three teams and two awards it was difficult to pick out the winners. Again, there was nothing wrong in what the White team did, so they were unlucky to miss out. Our first award, then, went to Archie. Archie is one of our stalwarts, always plays great rugby, scores loads of tries, very active in defence and a great support player. Sunday was no exception. Our other award went to Darcy. It has really come together for Darcy over the past two weeks. Something seems to have clicked and the performances have been truly excellent. Well done Archie and Darcy.

A quick reminder that we are at home to Tabard on Sunday. As usual for our home games, we will be up on Pitch 2 so we can have plenty of space.
