Loads of rugby at our last home game of 2015

Luton Under 7s welcomed High Wycome and Hitchin to our Club on Sunday, 6th December for our first triangular fixture of the season and our last home game of the year. Hitchin had enough players for 4 teams and High Wycome had enough for 3 so we organised ourselves into 3 teams - Red, Green and White as usual - to ensure an even total number of teams. In fact, we could have put out 4 squads for the first time this season.

After much head scratching, we distributed the teams over 5 pitches and came up with a schedule to ensure all teams got to play the maximum number of games without having to play thier own club mates. All three teams played 4 games each for a total of 12 matches. We won 6, drew 1 and lost 5 scoring 82 tries while conceeding 75. Scores and scorers were as follows:

Luton Red 7 v 8 High Wycombe
Tries: Callum (4), Josh W (2), Joseph
Luton Red 5 v 5 High Wycombe
Tries: Callum, Josh W (2), Joseph (2)
Luton Red 9 v 4 High Wycombe
Tries: Callum (6), Edward, Josh W (2)
Luton Red 8 v 6 High Wycombe
Tries: Callum (4), Poppy, Josh W (3)

Luton Green 1 v 2 Hitchin
Tries: Archie
Luton Green 7 v 9 Hitchin
Tries: Darcy (2), Liam (2), Archie (3)
Luton Green 8 v 7 Hitchin
Tries: Darcy (5), Jake, Archie (2)
Luton Green 8 v 9 Hitchin
Tries: Darcy (3), Jake, Archie (2), George (2)

Luton White 8 v 6 Hitchin
Tries: Kylan, Ollie (2), Jayden (3), Colby (2)
Luton White 8 v 6 Hitchin
Tries: Ollie (4), Jayden (3), Colby
Luton White 8 v 9 Hitchin
Tries: Ollie, Jayden (3), Colby (4)
Luton White 5 v 4 Hitchin
Tries: Ollie (2), Jayden (2), Colby

14 of our 16 players scored tries, and 6 of them scored in every match they played. How bad? A big shout out to: Kylan who scored in his very first ever game of rugby; Darcy who played some great rugby; Edward who probably had his best day's rugby all season; Callum who not only scored a hatful of tries (top-scored with 15) but also a load of tags taken; and Ollie and Josh W who, as usual, quietly got on with the job in hand.

Our first Man of the Match winner, though, was Archie. Archie is one of our stalwarts, always giving his all every week. Our second winner was Jayden. Without question, Jayden had his best match-day of the season on Sunday. He almost doubled his total try count, got loads of tags, and was right up in the oppositons faces, whether in attack or defence. Well done lads.

Finally, a reminder that we are away at Dunstablians on Sunday, 13th December. Stockwood Park will also be there. Usual 10:30am ish kicks off, so please be there for 10am, boots, belts and tags on ready to go. Directions etc to follow. Then, in the afternoon, it is the Childrens Christmas Party.
